Guardian Angel Part 2

CHAPTER 1



A boy with night black hair and oddly crimson eyes, who only appeared about fifteen, followed his angry looking father into a huge ancient building in the centre of Vatican City. His name was Lucifer; it was obvious by the faint flinch he would give every time his father shot a dark look his way that he was abused.
But not a single person had ever reached out to help him... Only his Mother had... and she was dead now...

He spent a lot of time locked inside his dark room hunched into a small ball, pained because off the bruises that littered his body but somehow always remained hidden under clothing. As a result his skin was as pale as bone and his body was scrawny from lack of food and exercise.

He looked nothing like his father who was buff with tanned skin and deep set blue eyes, as well as a head of mousy brown hair.

Lucifer wasn't interested in his father at this point though, he gazed around at the amazing art and perfectly carved statues that lined the walls and ceiling. Secretly Lucifer liked to draw and although he didn't acknowledge it yet he was very good. He had to keep his art hidden though since in his father's eyes it was 'wimpy' and 'unmanly'.

They slowly came to a stop and Lucifer blinked, they were only in a group of five waiting outside huge oak doors that were woven with glorious designs that seemed to be telling of an Angel visiting the city then falling into a slumber.

A neatly dressed man bowed to them with a smile that in Lucifer's opinion was just a little too big... faker...

"Greetings! We have been told that you are uncertain in the faith, so we have invited you here as proof. First there is something you must know. What you about to see is sacred and not to be touched!"

Lucifer frowned at the man then studied the four guards, two on either side of the door and began to wonder... What could possibly be so sacred that it needed this much protection on one door?....

"Also you must never speak of anything you see or witness in this room. We want you to swear on The Holy Father that you will keep this secret until you are hopefully accepted into heaven."

Lucifer listened as one by one each person swore on The Lord not to speak. Each person looked as puzzled as he did as to what could possibly be in the room, except his father of course... he just looked grumpy... big surprise there.

"I swear on The Holy Father's name I will not speak of what happens in this room outside of this room."

Lucifer shuddered almost as if the vow was binding him with some power that he could subconsciously feel radiating out of the room. Nodding their guide turned as the guards pushed open the oak doors and strode into the room that for a moment blinded Lucifer as it was carved out of pure marble.

Everyone in the group even Lucifer's father gasped as they stared at the walls and ceilings that shone in the setting suns glow. The walls had images of beautiful angels carved into them and smirking demons on the other wall, both were carved with such detail it was as if any of them could step out of the walls at any moment. Lucifer was awestruck and for a moment indulged in the idea that he could one day do something like this.

Then everyone's eyes were simultaneously drawn to a marble table in the centre of the room because although the room was beautiful the one who peacefully there outshone everything else.

Slowly, silently the group moved forwards the table; all were entranced but none more so than Lucifer...
When they got closer there was a collective gasp as all of them spotted the beautiful white wings folded underneath the flawless feminine man. They gathered at the white leather rope that held them two metres back from the man.

Lucifer's father gaped at the Angel then his shock turned to anger as he tried to push past the rope.

"Those wings are a lie! Try to trick me! I'll show you!"

Immediately six guards moved forwards shoving Lucifer's father back causing the others to scatter with wide eyes their trance broken by the deadly looking guards. In the confusion no one noticed Lucifer hadn't moved from his position staring at the still Angel.

Something deep inside Lucifer rose and drew him forwards; he slipped under the rope and walked towards the angel lifting a hand to reach out to him.
Lucifer's pale fingers brushed along the angel's cheek and something inside him settled making him feel content and safe.

A pulse of golden light shot out from the angel, hitting the walls and surging up them, making the walls shine. People staggered backwards shocked as the Angel's power washed around them, cleansing and calming.

Lucifer had staggered back and was now gaping at the angel who appeared to be stirring, stunning deep sapphire eyes open and slowly focusing. Moving with a grace that would leave any human staring in awe the angel rose and got to his feet, surveying the room and everyone in it calmly as the guards fell to the floor in worship.

The angel looked down at his robe and his lips pursed slightly, with a flash of white light the robe was gone leaving him only in white skinny jeans that highlighted his feminine figure. Nodding to himself the Angel flared his white wings to their full extent then folding them loosely but neatly behind himself.

Lucifer stared at the angel, shaking slightly with shock, his eyes wide, the deep instinct still drawing him closer but this time he resisted it, so lost in his awe.

The angel studied the people in the room with disinterest then looked at Lucifer and a smile bloomed on his lips as he looked at the teen.

"Hello child... What is your name?"

Lucifer stuttered to try and get a response out to the angel who seemed amused, chuckling softly.

"L-Lucifer... sir..."

A melodic laugh echoed softly around the room as the angel ruffled his wing feathers and smiled softly at Lucifer.

"Well Lucifer... I'm Gabriel... Your Guardian angel."
